VfB Stuttgart Increases Offer for Dzenan Pejcinovic to €25 Million

VfB Stuttgart has reportedly submitted a third, improved offer for Germany U21 striker Dzenan Pejcinovic from Wolfsburg. The Swabians are actively seeking attacking reinforcements in preparation for their participation in the 2026/27 Champions League campaign, anticipating potential departures of key offensive players.

The latest proposal from Stuttgart is said to be just under €23.5 million in guaranteed transfer fee, with ongoing discussions to finalize performance-related bonuses that could elevate the total package to over €25 million. This figure brings Stuttgart very close to Wolfsburg's reported valuation, a price Wolfsburg's sporting director Dieter Hecking had previously stated was non-negotiable.

Stuttgart had previously increased their offer to approximately €22 million, but Wolfsburg remained firm on securing a higher sum. If this latest offer is accepted, Pejcinovic would become one of the most expensive signings in Stuttgart's history, surpassed only by Deniz Undav's move from Brighton for roughly €26.7 million.

Pejcinovic Favors Stuttgart Despite Porto Interest

FC Porto has also shown interest and reportedly made an offer of approximately €23 million, which Wolfsburg rejected. However, the Portuguese champions are expected to submit a revised bid.

Despite the interest from Porto, Pejcinovic reportedly favors a move to Stuttgart. The 21-year-old has already reached a verbal agreement on a contract through 2031 and believes that working under Sebastian Hoeneß is the optimal next step for his career development. The prospect of moving closer to his hometown is also an attractive factor.

Both Stuttgart and Porto can offer Champions League football, but the player's preference for Stuttgart provides the Bundesliga club with a significant advantage.

Wolfsburg is not under pressure to accept a reduced fee. The club's financial position has been strengthened by the departures of Lovro Majer and Andreas Skov Olsen, and there is also potential for Konstantinos Koulierakis to be sold amid interest from AS Roma.

Last season, Pejcinovic scored 12 goals in 34 appearances and has also made several strong showings for the Germany U21 team, indicating his potential for senior international recognition.

The transfer now hinges on Stuttgart and Wolfsburg reaching an agreement on the final bonus structure. With Stuttgart's guaranteed offer approaching Wolfsburg's valuation, the negotiations appear to be in their final stages.
